Strap is not the same
This strap is not your typical two D-ring strap. It is a plastic clip in strap, which is a bit different from normal and I am unsure as to how well this would work in a crash to keep the helmet on your head. Other than the strap, everything seems to work well.

Excellent helmet (small size) for fall / winter E-cycling
This is my first ever motorcycle helmet but for a different purpose. I use it to test out my new class 2 Ebike for riding 6 miles, 46° outside, speeds varying from 6 mph uphill 12% gradients, 9 mph uphill 7% then a short (.3 miles) 19%, 21 mph flat and 33 mph downhill.Pros:- For the money, it seems to be high quality finish and workmanship.- Very comfortable to wear- Double visor, even though I don’t think I am going to use the tinted visor, but it’s good to have it as an “in case” option.- Modular, the chin portion can lift up to easily put the helmet on your head, especially for people wearing RX glasses like myself. Be forewarned, can’t do this with all glasses. I have a pair which I have to wear the helmet first then wiggle the glasses in, albeit with difficulty as the padding is pretty tight and the frame legs are curved.- The LED light in the back, in case riding at night.- Perfectly isolate wind noise to a bearable level.- Keep my head and face warm with minimal running nose.Cons:- IMO, a bit heavy as I am used to much lighter bicycle helmet. But a very good trade off for fall / winter cycling.- Even though with all the small ventilation vents opened (two by the chin and on the top), it is very foggy with clear visor completely down. Definitely a bigger opening vents will be better and solve the issue. I wonder if motorcyclist experiences this at higher speed. Anyway, just need to open the clear shield one notch and problem solved. I hope that the manufacture read this review and make the visor opening increments a bit smaller (say half inches instead of two inches) which will definitely reduce running nose and wind noise even further.- The button to turn on the LED light is hard to press.- Removing the helmet when wearing RX glasses is challenging as it will also pull your glasses out as well. It’s not too much of a problem if your frame is made of memory metal Flexon material, but still have to be very careful.- Hear big crack noise when pulling the side (cheeks part) out to put on the helmet. Not sure why and this will present a problem overtime and in the long run.Overall, very happy with my purchase and will definitely order again should need be.Updated: take one star off due to rattling noise at any speed (6 to 33mph) which I am unable to isolate and fix myself. Awaiting feedback from ILM for this issue.2ND Update 2/17/2022: Received a replacement and still experience the same rattling noise. I notice that the noise disappears when modular chin is lift up. ILM can’t provide an answer to this.Note: the noise may not be heard on a motorcycle as the engine noise and shock absorber may either reduce or mask it. But it is definitely there on an e-bike.

Great inexpensive helmet
This helmet exceeded my expectations…usually cheap product=cheap functionality but this thing is comfortable, fits my head perfectly, and the noise isn’t bad at all. I switched out the clear visor for the tinted visor (I recommend that also) makes a huge difference.

I love this helmet for long trips!
I love the built in sun visor. It’s easy to use and can safely flip in/out of sight while riding. My kids call it my “iron man” helmet lol. Front of helmet is easy to flip up and put back down. Has vents that can open and close on top and near the mouthpiece of the helmet. Has a quick connect chin strap. Adjust it once, and done.

Good helmet … optics on the drop down tinted visor is marginal
I like the helmet. I like the fit. I like that it is lightweight. It vents well and the light is an added safety bonus (but honestly I rarely use it). The quality of the main visor is acceptable. My only gripe is that the quality of the drop down tinted visor. It gives too much distortion and is not safe to look through while riding. Other than that, the helmet is a win … recommended but not highly recommended.

So Far So good . The woman I’m dating has NEVER been on a bike. I’m an aged and very avid rider for the last 40 years. Enough about us onto the Helmet.Fit was comfortable for her. She chose to go Small. She has long hair and measures on the cusp of Small to Medium.Looks are very pleasing. Weight in my hands felt well. Fortunately she can put her glasses on and drop the tinted interior visor. That was a big win.I’ll update this later if something goes wrong, but as for now I’m pretty pleased with this.I honestly would consider getting one for myself later.

Great all around product and definitely worth the price. I have had no issues expect the batter pack for the leds. It needs something to hold the back in place more securely I’m not a designer or engineer. But having a pack of battery’s hit your neck while your driving is a little uncomfortable especially at night. Other then that great quality very durable all functions on the helmet including visors and retracting front work great.

Very good helmet for the money
So I have had the helmet for a few weeks and so far it seems ok. I liked the price and the features are a definite plus.I work nights so when I leave it is dark, but when I get off the sun is up, so having the flip-down visor is great! I also like the modular style helmet as flipping it up makes putting on, taking off and talking to others a lot easier.

Comfortable
This helmet fits true to size. Wonderful fit and meets all my safety needs. The quick release strap is wonderful as well.I did notice some minor whistling from the helmet while riding the bike at higher speeds, so there is a minor air leak around the visor. Nothing that would detur me from buying or wearing the helmet again though.

Good value.
I bought this helmet for several reasons. It’s modular so I can pull over and have a drink of water without taking the helmet off. I also wanted the second internal visor because I like to ride dirt the front visor up and the internal visors means I don’t need to wear glassesThe helmet is comfortable. It has. Speaker cut outs for use a. Heaadset and they are plenty deep enough and accommodate the speakers so that you don’t feel them with the helmet on.The front visor seems to be effectively attached and ratcheted do that you can ride with the visor in several positions without having it close at speed when you dont want it too.One thing that makes this helmet more conducive to riding at and above highway speeds in cooler climate is the cover inside that blocks off the area under the chin between your face snd the French my of the helmet. It prevents air from entering from the bottom front of the helmet and I found it to make all the difference between being cold and being comfortable in weather that’s normally borderline cold for me which is around 50 degrees.I also notice that compared to my other helmet which is a Bell qualifier, wind buffering at higher speeds is much less with this helmet.Cons: the internal DropDown sun visor feels like cheap material. It’s fine for blocking the sun when it’s blinding you, but the quality of the plastic is cheap and you can tell when you look through it because the world astound you sometimes looks distorted at some angles. Also when the internal sun visor is up snd not in use, it borders on being uncomfortable because the edge of it can sometimes hit the furehead when you ride over a bump and it feels as if it’s cutting into you. I gently sanded the sharp edge down to solve the problem. The other problem I had was that even with the chin strap adjusted to be as short as possible, the chin strap was not tight enough. I had to do some creative fabric cutting and sewing to be able to make it short enough to be tight. The only other con if I’m being honest is that to me the helmet feels cheap. Granted it is in the lower end level of helmets as far as price so this should have been expected. It is DOT certified though for what it’s worth. The helmet looks great IMO and has the features I wanted and was in my price range so overall I’m satisfied.I can confirm that their customer service is very responsive and helpful.

Very solid beginning helmet
I bought this as my first motorcycle helmet and it has held up very well. The modular desgin is very convenient and the rear light is a good safety feature, though I didn’t turn it on very often because its easy to forget about. Its reasonably comfterble and gives your eyes and ears the space they need. For a reasonable price, I think this is everything you need in a helmet to start riding with one exception: the included visor is NOT fog resistant, and understand this is a MAJOR saftey risk, if you’re riding in certain, mainly cold climates and at night, as well as being really annoying. I don’t know why fog resistant visors are not the defualt for ALL helmets, but if you do decide to go with this one, buy the anti fog visor too to make this a complete helmet.

Ok helmet for the price
So, first, what I like:Some may think this a negative, but this helmet is much heavier than my Orz helmet which makes it feel like it’s much more substantially constructed. The helmet’s main and secondary visors move nicely with the lever for the secondary visor in a convenient place that doesn’t get obstructed by my Bluetooth intercom. The interior of the helmet is thoughtfully designed with channels in the foam for installing a wired headset and deep recesses for speakers. The interior padding is comfortable and sits snugly against your head creating a feeling of safety. The only negatives I have are mostly surrounding the build tolerances. The helmet is noisy. There’s a lot of wind noise and whistling when not behind the bikes windscreen.Today is the first time I got caught in the rain wearing this helmet. As I was wiping the visor, I found streaks I couldn’t clear and discovered that it was water running down the inside of the visor and obstructing a clear view of the road. The only other observation I have is that the airflow isn’t fantastic. The air current inside the helmet feels the same whether the vents are open or closed and that flow isn’t directed down the inside of the visor so an anti-flog shield is pretty much a necessity. So, not certain I would buy this one again. I really like the quality feel, comfort and forethought of building it to accommodate an headset, but would really want something that had better performance for sound, airflow and waterproofing.

No air flow, but comfortable
So I purchased this 2 monthes ago and have spent 2000 miles with this thing on, so here’s my 2 cents. I love the opening front, makes it so easy to slip on over my earbuds, and pop open at low speeds for better air flow. It’s comfortable to wear for long rides and even if full helmets aren’t as cool, it’s nice to have the piece of mind that this thing will protect my entire face and not just my brain bucket. No use having a good working brain if the rest of your face has been street grated off. My big Hangul and only buyer remorse with this helmet is the air flow vents. They seem to only be for looks. There are two on the top and one in front of the mouth, I notice no difference when they are open vs. closed. So most of my riding time in hot weather, I have to leave the front of the helmet open to avoid heat stress, completely negating the reason and safety of having a full facial covering. Taking that into account, I realize that the purpose of this device is safety and not to provide central air for my dome, so I won’t hit them to hard on this.

This is my second modular ILM full face model 902 purchase. Nice styling and good quality overall for the price. Shipping was quick and it came in a brand new box and styro wrapping. Excellent for the price, but…
Just got this in, tried it on, made some adjustments. My first thoughts are that this is a pretty nice helmet. The quality seems to be pretty good. There were no missing stitches, the visors and the forward face lift nicely and stay in place. But when I removed the protective film from the clear visor, a small set of scratches were evident. These are hard to see in the picture, but are on the outside, so they could not have been made during shipment or when I was trying it on and getting the ridiculously long chin strap down to where the quick release buckle was properly set up. It could only have been from before the protective film was placed on it. It’s only visible from inside the helmet with the light being at just the right angle, but it is nearly dead center and low, so could become a distraction while riding. Hence the one star being lost. The vents are easy to open and close. The quick release chin-strap is really nice. The padding is comfortable. Nothing smells funny. It looks great. The tint on the inner visor is nice and I can even wear glasses (sun or reader) with it down. Everything just works. I can even wear my bluetooth earbuds with this on.I’ll give an update when I can get out for a ride with it and give details on wind noise, comfort, visibility, and anything else that comes to mind in the near future.Aside from the clear visor being pre-scratched, this is a 5-star helmet at a great price!

It’s waaaaay better than I thought it would be!
The ILM helmet came fast, fit perfectly. I made sure to measure 3 times using their table of measurements. It fits perfectly snug. The weight is ridiculously light, I have issues with my neck and this helmet doesn’t cause lockups or extra pain like your traditional helmets (HJC etc) the full flip up face is also very convenient to have, easy to take drinks, smoke brakes, etc. Whoever invented the flip down sun visor, you my friend are an absolute super genius. No worries with sunglasses steaming up, or forgetting them at home, or fighting with them to stay position. They conveniently flip up and stow away until you need them, last but not least the quick release chin strap. Absolutely amazing! 10/10 would buy again and again.

A great comfortable helmet
I bought this helmet to try and for the price. It is a great DOT approved motorcycle helmet with a fair price. I bought this helmet to replace a 16 year old Nolan, but I was not going to pay $800.00 + for a new Nolan. IMO…just because you pay big money for a helmet does not make it any better than this helmet and this helmet exceeded my expetations…I am happy. Great seller and very fast shipping…and I actually bought two of these helmets…one for me and one for the honey.

First impressions
The box was not damaged the helmet came in a nice helmet cover bag you can reuse when you store it or place it in your bag whole not in useThe build quality is nice some people have mentioned the modular face part breaks and it wont close we will see how that holds up in the futureI ordered medium did not have things on hand to measure my head so i grabbed a headphone cord wrapped it around my head and used my thumb to measure the inches just winging it to my surprise it fits perfectly id even say snug. You will have fog build up but thats a given. The vent caps are nice and click nicelyLightweight great for neck fatigue on long ridesGreat breathing airflow even better while ridingATM my only bummer is trying to use my ipod pros it feels odd and you have to really work with it to get it to feel right in your ear tbh its best to not have ear bud in while having tjis on lol.😂On the topic of hearing you can hear things fine in the helmetVisibility it good you can look over your shoulders but it would be wise to just get a side view mirror.I will update this review as i use the product more this month.

Just okay
Fit was ok, it does feel a bit on the cheap side opens fine visor operates fine the tinted lense was a little hazy so guess that’s better than sun blasted in the eyes but not by much. Biggest bummer is my full face dual sport helmet is even way quieter at 70mph or lower than this helmet! It has a lot of wind noise not sure why but kind of annoying

Comfortable, quiet and well ventilated
I love this helmet, it’s an upgrade on my other 2 Nolan helmets. I bought it for the modular design to give an option for open face riding in hot weather. However, I find the ventilation to be very good and even though the temps have been over 30C (90F) since it arrived I haven’t felt the need to ride ‘chin-up’Some people have commented negatively about the noise, but I think it is actually quite quiet (much better than my full face Nolan). My head is 57cm and medium is an almost perfect fit. It is perhaps a little snug at the cheeks, but probably as a new helmet should be.The visor is crystal clear and I know it is brand new, but I don’t remember any visor being so unobtrusive.I don’t use the dark visor because I always ride with sunglasses, so can’t comment on it, other than to say that it’s easy to deploy. My only slight gripe is that whilst the chin strap is comfortable and easy to release (once you learn to grab the cloth tab), the initial adjustment for length is tedious and cumbersome.

Modular helmet at ~$100. Can’t beat that deal
I didn’t wanna spend $500 or more on a Shoei so I checked this out. I was taking my MSF and needed a helmet quick. This $100 helmet offers quality at cheap price. It snaps shut just fine or rides in the open position with no issues. Good sliding mechanics for the sun visor although I wish the visor came down a little more. Most helmets (even the more expensive ones offer the same level of sun visor) so I wasn’t expecting much. The modular opening mechanics could be a little easier to open but it’s not horrible. The mech pushes up instead of sort of pulling it forward like some other higher-quality helmets offer nowadays. The main visor is secure and stays up and in place. The helmet is pretty quiet with acceptable road noise when riding at 55 MPH. Quieter than some $300 helmets that I’ve tried (LS2 Valiant II).Padding is a good level. Has space for speakers and routing wires and I haven’t had any issues so far.The neck curtain padding could be a little better to push tighter around the neck. I don’t notice a lot of wind noise but it could definitely be improved and not have to cost a lot of $$$. I have the black/red/silver color scheme and I do not feel unsafe in the helmet at all. I would buy this helmet again. It’s great for everyday street riding.

Difficult to open the helmet, but otherwise great.
I went to motorcycle classes and found that my helmet I had not touched in years was too tight now. I had to go to a local place and pick up a cheap helmet, as I did not want to wear one that the school had…eww. That thing was heavy as heck, but got the job done. Now that I’m riding daily, I wanted something lighter, cuter, and more functional. I got this because I wanted a matte finish and some color to match my bike. I love the modular function, though the opening could be easier to do. The button is kind of difficult to push and get it to open…That said, my Bluetooth headset that I already had fit nicely in this helmet. When I open the vents, I can actually feel the air on my face, so that’s nice as well. When the vents are closed, there is no whistle and no air that gets through. My only other issue, which is the reason I docked this a star, is that it fogs up bad when stopped. I intend to get anti fog stuff to fix that though.

Good starter helm
This helm is meat and potatoes. It fits big, so keep that in mind while trying to size it. The face mask part of it goes up and down well, locking tightly in place. I got the matte black one, and it scuffs easily, showing every fingerprint as well. The cloth chin cushion broke off almost immediately, which was fine because I stopped having issues with it fogging up afterwards. That being said, it took no effort to snap it off. I’ll buy a better one eventually, but this one will be fine until then. I can’t speak on how well it protects the brainmeat in a crash, and hopefully I’ll never have to. If I do (and survive), I’ll update this.

With stood the test of times so far
I’ve been using the ILM helmet on the left for the past five years, got about 35,000 miles on it went through multiple states on many rides. Through the white mountains, New York City, All over Maine, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Rhode, never had any issues. Put helmet communicators in it, My wife has the same one only red, loves her too. Finally decide To retire the old stinky one and get a new one, got a tinted visor for the new one, seems to have been updated a little bit but the same model, works just as good as the old one. ready for another 35,000

A little tight at first
It was a little tight at first, but after a bit of use it has gotten more comfortable. The padding is pretty soft and it fits my head well.I should point out that using the sizing guide, I first ordered a medium, which was way too tight. Like chipmunk cheeks tight. One feature I do really appreciate is the space for some sort of helmet speakers. I, being frugal, choose to use some koss kph30i headphones that had a broken headband with a little FiiO bt amp and mocked up my own system which fit PERFECTLY! So my suggestion here is stuff in some cheap headphones with a BT amp and they will probably stick right into this helmet without issue. Or get a real helmet speakers, which was what it was made for, I suppose.Either way, the price point and functionality are good. Haven’t crashed so I can’t speak for the results there.

Helmet bought for tornado safety
I actually got this product for protecting my head in case of a tornado. I live in a very tornado-prone area and needed something to fully protect my head. Other hats made for protections did not cover as much of my head as this one does. So far, I have not needed it, but am ready in case I do!

Stylish and sleek
I love the helmet for the face shield rise it offers. The led in the back for extra visibility is also a nice addition. I definitely recommend ilm this is the second helmet I bought from them and neither one disappointed me. Great brand.

Excellent value
A little more noise than I would like. But I like the fall down sun visor. Excellent value for the money. I added retro reflective tape.

Sizing guide is dead on,
A little bulky, but it fit perfectly based upon sizing guide (motorcycle helmet sizing is a random mess). I have a 23” circumference head, and the medium fits perfect – snug, but doesn’t rip my ears off. Vents keep the face shield fog free, and the sunscreen works great – not polarized so I can still read the gauges. Great value.
